Valley Community Chapel is a non-denominational church with a simple goal; to fellowship together and worship our Lord Jesus Christ, to share the Good News with those who don't know Jesus, and to equip Christians to use their God given gifts and talents for His glory and purposes. At VCC we teach the entire Bible, chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse.
Our motto is that we are Christ centered, inwardly strong, and outwardly focused.
VCC has many active ministries that can minister to you and that you can be a part of. During our Sunday morning services we have a great praise and worship team and choir, youth group, children's ministries, and nursery care. On Wednesday nights we have an in depth and interactive Bible study for the adults, Youth Group for jr. high through high school, and children's ministries. We also have many other ministry opportunities like; men's ministry, women's ministry, worship events, etc. We also have a large and active preschool through kindergarten ministry with an after school daycare program.
VCC has a strong commitment to fellowship and accountability. We believe that Christians should be accountable to God and to each other. One way of achieving this accountability is to be connected and committed to a local church fellowship. Whether it's Valley Community Chapel, or another Bible teaching fellowship, we encourage all Christians to be in weekly fellowship and be active in ministry. To help facilitate this commitment, VCC has a very simple, yet important, church membership.
The topic of church membership is a confusing subject. Some people have had very positive experiences with church membership and are excited, and desire to become members. Other people have had very negative experiences with church membership, and thus don't believe in it or are very skeptical about it.
Two facts to understand about church membership:
1) When you accept and believe on Jesus Christ as your Savior, you instantly become a "member" of the body of Christ. You are a member of "the Church", not a denomination or an organization. This is a great truth, we have become adopted sons and daughters of God, and are part of His family.
2) Because of our U.S. laws for non-profit organizations, ALL churches have an official membership. Churches that claim they have no membership actually do, all non-profit organizations have to spell out what their official membership is in their bylaws. This is not a Biblical ordinance but a requirement of the state to assemble, receive and spend money, as a non-profit. This does not contradict the Bible, it is just man's law and organizational structure.
Commitment to any church fellowship is extremely important and should not be taken lightly. To become an official member of VCC is simple but important:
We believe all Christians should be involved in ministry. You can click here to go to our Equipping Ministry Page to find out more information about serving in ministries at VCC. In order to be involved in any form of ministry at VCC, you must become a member (See VCC Membership above). This is not because VCC is legalistic, but because there needs to be checks and balances in place for an active and healthy church fellowship. The first step in the process is making sure everyone in the ministry understands the ministry and agrees to be accountable to each other and the leadership. This is a Biblical model from the formation of the church that we follow today.
